The Basics of Primal Posture ~ Gentle Basics

65 minute Gentle Basics class. We really get into the Gokhale method of posture (worked with Esther Gokhale in a livestream workshop yesterday) and I show some pictures from Kathleen Porter's book, Natural Posture.

Clarity note on the instruction of 'put your behind, behind you'. It is intended to create a curve at the wedge where the sacrum (pelvis) meets the lumbar spine (low back). The rest of the lumbar spine is more subtle and lengthened, rather than sway-backed. To balance the movement of buttocks back, anchor the front ribs.

Props: 2 tennis balls (or like massage balls), blocks and a belt
